D-isoascorbic acid and
sodium erythorbate expected to see wide future use in Chinese food industry
D-isoascorbic acid and sodium erythorbate are water-soluble food
antioxidants that have been approved by the World Food and Agriculture
Organization and the World Health Organization (FAO and WHO) as safe food
additives. Furthermore, these compounds can be efficiently produced without
harming the environment, are they are non-toxic.
Compared with developed countries, D-isoascorbic acid and sodium
erythorbate still have very limited uses and applications within China. As
living standards in China continue to improve, the domestic food industry is
expected to continue developing and expanding, and D-isoascorbic acid and
sodium erythorbate are expected to see wide application in Chinese food
products in the near future.
